Program Mission Statement
The mission of the Interior Architecture program is to provide an educational foundation that prepares graduates for entry level positions in the Interior Design profession as well as preparing them for leadership positions in management and design.
The goals of the program are to provide human centered learning experiences that enable the individual to solve interior space problems through creative exploration, 研究, 评估, and understanding of the 心理, 社会学, and economic needs of those individuals for whom the project is being designed.
The program engages a knowledge base that includes: design fundamentals, 设计分析, 编程, 空间规划, materials applications, 照明设计, sustainability and environmental impact, technical information (e.g. building codes and written specifications), the integration of digital technology for both exploration and presentation of ideas, and an understanding of the role of aesthetics in design and related disciplines.

Through this program, you will learn how architectural elements interact and synthesize to meet physical, 心理, 社会, and intellectual needs of people in a variety of settings.

For more than 30 years, the Interior Architecture program has been preparing graduates for successful careers in residential and non-residential design, as well as in lighting, 视觉显示, 销售, and showroom management.

Applicants must meet general University admission guidelines to enroll in any School of 艺术与设计 program. 另外, a portfolio review is required for admission consideration for the Bachelor of 美术 (B.F.A.) in Interior Architecture, as well as for talent-based scholarship consideration and transfer admission.

Interior Architecture 设施
The Interior Architecture program facilities are located in Grover Center and Seigfred Hall. Grover Center houses the program's two dedicated studio spaces, 教师办公室, resource library, and one additional active learning classroom.The studio spaces provide dedicated workstations for each Interior Architecture major, critique and presentation spaces, program computers, 手工具, 一个冰箱, 还有微波炉.
The Interior Architecture facilities support student success by being available to students 24-7-365, (Each student has an individual PIN that allows access to program studios) by providing dedicated workstations for every student, and by functioning as a 社会 as well as academic community.
The program facilities provide the setting in which faculty and students engage in the design explorations that are at the core of the program mission.
